Grant Management and Administration Services
The TREE Fund offers its professional grant management and administration services to organizations interested in turning over their grant or scholarship funds to advance knowledge in arboriculture and urban forestry. What you get when you invest your grant and/or scholarship funds with the TREE Fund:
- Assurance that all IRS grant-making criteria are being met
- Reduction in your or your organization’s time spent on grants administration
- Participation in the decision process (if desired)
- Asset management
- Marketing of your fund
New federal legislation and increased public scrutiny over charitable organizations have increased demands for accountability and transparency. The TREE Fund can respond to that scrutiny. The tax and legal considerations of running a foundation are many and vary from state to state. Assisting the TREE Fund in these circumstances is our auditor, an attorney and CPA who specializes in not-for-profit law and accounting. Our grant making policies and procedures meet the IRS criteria:
- an objective and non-discriminatory grant selection process
- a process that is reasonably designed to ensure the grantee will do the research financed by the grant
- documentation of the entire process
Our staff is knowledgeable in the documentation a grantor requires of grantees. They also understand expenditure responsibilities as they relate to grant making and regulations related to lobbying. Our grant making policies and procedures are documented, reviewed and strictly adhered to by our Research Committee. Led by an esteemed academic researcher, our Research Committee members represent every sector of the arboriculture industry.
