VIRTUAL TOUR DES TREES: August 2026

Not everyone is able to make it out to the Carolinas for the Tour des Trees and that’s ok. You can still participate in the Virtual Tour des Trees and support TREE Fund from home.
Create a distance or time goal to challenge yourself during the month of August and encourage others to make donations to TREE Fund to encourage you on. Help us all raise funds together for tree research and education!
Goals: Your goals can be fitness related and you can track your time and distance using the app on our website! Examples include:
- Plan to ride your bike 50 miles each weekend.
- Plan to hike the local trail for an hour twice a week.
Your goals are yours to complete and we want to support you as you support TREE Fund. The distance tracker will be set up to record all your activities during the month of August so you can see your progress.
Fundraising Goals: There are no set fundraising goals for the Virtual Tour des Trees, but we encourage you to set a fundraising goal of at least $1,000. The more you raise, the more can go towards funding TREE Fund’s grant and scholarship programs.
To participate: Register at www.tourdestrees.org and sign up for the Virtual Tour des Trees. Fill out the information to create your fundraising page, connect to your fitness tracker, and get going! It is $50 to register.
Companies: Use the Virtual Tour des Trees as an office team building exercise!
- Create an event or challenge for the office.
- Organize a team and compete against other companies
- Set a team goal
- Set a team fundraising goal
- Work together to hit your goal and show it off on your social media.

Fundraising Tips and Sharables:
Throughout the lead-up to Virtual Tour des Trees, we’ll send out tips, messaging, social media images, and other sharables to help you recruit donors and spread the word about the event. There are also suggested messages within your fundraising page profile by going to the Participant Center.
Tour des Trees in-person riders: August is the perfect time to get in your training miles for the Tour and by tracking your training miles, you can promote your fundraising efforts leading up to Tour week. No additional sign-up is needed; just plan on making a push for fundraising during the month and encourage your friends to join you. Turn it into a challenge for yourself and get closer to your goals!
TREE Fund support: Our goal is to raise over $20,000 during the Virtual Tour des Trees. With your help, we can hit that goal. We appreciate everyone that joins and tries to raise funds for TREE Fund, whether that is $10 or $10,000. Thank you!
