Natural Resources Careers Conference

2009 | Maryland Forestry Boards Foundation,  Inc.

The Natural Resources Careers Conference (NRCC) is the only Maryland educational summer program for high school students interested in pursuing a career in forestry and natural resources. It is a week-long classroom and hands-on field experience that introduces the many career options and college programs available in natural resources, including forestry, urban forestry, arboriculture, fire suppression, stream ecology, wildlife and watershed management. It is taught by professionals in the field.  NRCC gives high school students the basic information they need to make informed decisions about whether or not a natural resources career is for them. It allows them to make invaluable contacts with career and industry professionals, with college professors at seven different regional schools that have programs in the fields, and with peers who have common interests in natural resources and the outdoors. It gives them basic information in the above fields to better manage our water and forest resources, both urban and rural.
